Gilbert Albert (1930–2019) was a Geneva-based jeweler whose career began at Patek Philippe in 1955 under the direction of Henri Stern. There, he developed an innovative approach to forms and volumes before founding his own workshop in Geneva in 1962. His work is distinguished by sculptural and spectacular jewelry that combines gold and precious stones with materials from the natural world, such as meteorites, fossils, minerals, and seashells. A ten-time winner of the Diamonds International Awards, Gilbert Albert has established himself as one of the leading figures in Swiss jewelry design of the second half of the 20th century.
